Privacy Policy

CarGet is business software for used-car dealerships, run by CarGet ("CarGet," "we," "us"), 5095 Covington Way, Memphis, TN 38134. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: privacy@mycarget.com.

Account information: your name, email, phone number, your dealership's name, and your role (owner, buyer or lot staff).

Your dealership's sales data: the sold-vehicle export you send us — vehicle details (VIN, year, make, model, trim, miles), what you paid, your costs, the sale price, dates, where you bought each car, and which of your employees bought it.

What we do NOT keep: your customers' information. Before your sales data is saved, we remove customer names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, Social Security numbers, birth dates, driver's license numbers, credit and loan details, and co-buyer information. If a file has customer information inside a car field (like a phone number in the Model column), we reject the whole file and save nothing from it. The file you upload is read in memory and never saved; we keep only a fingerprint of it (so we can tell if the same file is sent twice) and a count of its rows.

Text-message consent records: if you agree to texts, we save your phone number, the exact words you agreed to, the date and time, the page, and your IP address, as proof of your consent.

Basic activity records: sign-ins and changes to your account, so you and we can see who did what. These records never contain your sales data.

Payments: when paid plans start, payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.

To build your reports, keep your account working, send you the messages you asked for, give you support, keep CarGet secure, and meet legal requirements.

We use your sales data, including your best-selling cars, to offer to find and buy cars for you that match what sells best on your lot. We'll only contact you about this in the ways you've agreed to.

Matching cars between CarGet dealers: we compare what sells well for one dealer with what isn't working for another. That lets us offer you cars from other CarGet dealers that fit your best sellers, and offer to sell your cars that don't work on your lot to CarGet dealers they do work for. We never show another dealer your sales data, your profits or your reports.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your phone number and your consent to receive texts are never shared with anyone for their marketing.

We use a small number of service providers, only to run CarGet: website hosting (Vercel), our database (Supabase), email delivery (Postmark), text messages and sign-in codes (Twilio), payments (once paid plans start), and error tracking that does not record personal information. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or as part of a sale or merger of our business, in which case this policy still protects your data.

Data is encrypted when it travels over the internet and when it is stored. Each dealership's data is locked to that dealership: people from one dealership cannot see another dealership's data, and we test this automatically. Only owners can see their dealership's activity log, download all its data, cancel or delete the account.

While your account is open, we keep your data so your reports work.

After a free trial ends or you cancel: we keep your sales data, so your history is there if you come back and so we can offer to find cars for you. You can still download it. If you want it gone, ask us to delete your account and we will.

If you ask us to delete your account: we delete your dealership's data from our live systems right away, and from our service providers within 30 days. People who belong only to your dealership are removed too.

Backups: copies of our database are kept for up to 35 days for disaster recovery, then erased.

Texting opt-outs: if you texted STOP, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your number so we never text you again, even after your account is deleted.

Download your data any time from your account (owners). Delete your account any time (owners). Stop texts by replying STOP. Stop marketing email with the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Or contact privacy@mycarget.com and we'll help.

CarGet is for businesses. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date, and tell account owners about big changes before they take effect. Last updated: October 16, 2026.
